When my friend Erin told me she was going to run for school board in my hometown, against the incumbent school board chair of 20 something years, I volunteered immediately to make her website and graphics. Erin is an amazing mom, and a valued community member in Anoka, MN. That school board needed a shake-up and Erin was the perfect candidate to do it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erin is an artist, but asked for my help creating a logo and honing her color choices. Erin sent me some hex codes and a blank canvas! She knew she wanted some kind of iconography that was evocative of children, but didn’t want to be cliche. After attending a few events, she was sold on an open book. After hearing Erin’s inspiring goals for the future of the school board, I knew a sprout from the book and her slogan “growing our future together” would be a winning combination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erin’s messaging was positive, looking toward the future, focused on the children, while partnering with teachers to build a better school district. Her logo captures that completely! After making the logo, Erin’s slogan came immediately: Growing Our Future Together. It’s pretty fun to help a friend run for office. It’s really cool to see a sign you made plastered throughout the community you grew up in! Even neater is that Erin’s signs outnumbered her opponent’s and she ended up winning her election! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erin is planning to run for reelection this year. I cannot wait to help her spruce up her website and update her graphics. Oh! And she’s so great, she’s the treasurer of the school board!
